Fantastic burgers!!! Fantastic food!!! Beautiful!!!

Ate with my family recently on the terrace. Beautiful lake view, but did not outweigh the peeling paint on the exterior and all around unpleasant bathroom experiences after the meal, as everything was oily beyond repair. Will not be returning.

Fantastic food in a rustically charming atmosphere

This was an amazing meal, with the best bartender/waitress ever! The views and the decor are breathtaking! They take reservations and have deck seating! You have to experience this bar/restaurant.

Outstanding! Great food and service!!

This restaurant was empty when all the in-town restaurants had hours of waiting - SO glad we went here! The food was excellent - beef wellington was done perfectly - it was cozy and quiet - perfect!! Service was slower than we expected- but worth the wait - a no-rush, relaxing dinner.

Great bacon taco appetizer but service was slow, steak was tough and overly peppered, sauces and fish had excessive oil which led to amazing bathroom experiences. The exterior of the "house" was ramshackled with rotten wood and peeling paint, which may be part of the charm they are going for? The inside of the house is quite nice with rustic exposed wood and the views of the lake from the deck are amazing. Would recommend bacon tacos and a drink on the deck at sunset.

Amazing food and service. A unique location with a terrific view of Skaneateles lake. One of my favorites.

The food and views are very good. I've never had a meal indoors because the patio is too good to pass up. I deducted stars because of the lack of upkeep of the building and patio. I'd love to see them power wash/stain the deck, paint the house and replace plastic seating with something more substantial and worthy of the food and views. Also maybe get rid of the rusty swing set and plant a garden or some flowers.

Wonderful spot for dinner and views of the sunset! We went Saturday after the Apple Festival for a table of four and were seated immediately. They have two menus-tavern and restaurant. You can order from both if you want to. Service was excellent. We had salads to start and the lettuce was really fresh. Next was the oysters. The sauce was perfect and the oysters cooked to perfection. For the main course i had the lobster and chicken piccata. Again this dish did not disappoint. Servings are large so expect leftovers. During the meal the sun was setting and the view was spectacular. Make this a def stop to eat while in town

They’re far too pretentious for the quality of their food. In my experience, meals here are exceptionally slow, so only come here if you have plenty of time to kill. It’s slim pickings around Skaneateles lake if you want a great meal, but I would recommend The Krebs over this place—the food here is just too mediocre. They did manage to give Ambyr Teed diarrhea once... On my last visit, the building looked more run-down than ever, which is probably a good sign of their lack of success.

Best food in Skaneateles. Amazing view of the lake with outdoor seating. Great staff and atmosphere.

Choose this restaurant for the history of the building but going in the evening on a winter day it was too dark to see much. The service was friendly. My friend raved about his seafood and pasta dish. Mine was a Bolognese ;good but nothing to write home about. The meat was tender but the Bolognese only gave me heavy tomato flavor. Next time I would sit at the bar and choose from the tavern menu.

Absolutely delicious meal. A long drive, but worth it. Now serving take out Chinese food. I heard it's excellent.

I have never had a bad experience with this place. Food is great and people is great.

My husband took me here on a date before we were married. Such a cozy and cool setting, it let really transports you back in time. We went there mostly for the views(he had been before I had not) and though it was a hazy, snowy day....the view of skaneatles lake was breathtaking. The food was mediocre but the setting definitely made up for that. Would like to try it again.

Amazing food and staff!!!!!

Incredible experience, the food was out of this world amazing! They serve anywhere from American traditional dinners to New Zealand lamb and beyond! Highly recommend this place to anyone who is a foodie and loves great wines and beers! The staff was awesome! Courteous, kind, and always willing to change foods based on dietary needs (my wife has celiacs disease) I will definitely be coming back here again!

Excellent food everything cook to order only issue bartender not up on specialty cocktails that they offer a Saturday night early and they ran out of specific liquors that's not acceptable

Great place to eat and conversate

The view from the deck is stunning, you can see Skaneateles lake through the tree tops. The building is in need of updating and, repair. The bar was fast with drinks and, friendly. Most of the food was good.

Amazing! If you haven't been here, you need to get to the 1820 house! Incredible wine, food, service, music, views...a very special place!

The Beef Wellington was smashing. Also had the escargot and lobster bisque. Everything was very good.

It's a rustic place. The food is good. The service was good and people were friendly.

We love this place. Always a good meal: dinner date, family or with a group of friends. Meals cooked to order allow time for good conversation and a bottle of wine. Friendly and accommodating. Our go-to for a nice quiet dinner during the cold months and for beautiful summer sunsets.
